There is a kind of trust that cannot be bought. A family invites our oil into their kitchen, into the food they will set in front of their children, and that invitation carries a quiet expectation — that we will be careful, honest and unhurried in everything we do. The way we handle your personal information is simply another expression of that promise.
This policy explains, in ordinary language, what we collect when you visit pawangold.com or place an order with us, why we collect it, who we work with, and the choices that remain entirely yours. It covers our website, our order and delivery process, and any conversation you have with our team by email, telephone or WhatsApp.
We have written it to be read, not skimmed past. If a single line is unclear, write to us and a person — not a template — will answer.
We collect the least we can, keep it only as long as we must, and never sell it.
At a glance
Never sold
Your personal information is never sold, rented or traded — not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
Encrypted in transit
Our site and checkout run over HTTPS. Card and UPI credentials are handled entirely by certified payment partners, never by us.
Yours to control
Ask to see it, correct it, or have it erased. One email is all it takes.
Kept, then cleared
We hold records only for as long as law, tax and warranty obligations require — then we let them go.
01
Information We Collect
We collect only what an order or a conversation genuinely requires. Nothing is gathered out of curiosity, and nothing is asked for that we cannot justify.
Information you give us
- Identity and contact details — your name, delivery address, pin code, telephone number and email address.
- Order details — the products chosen, quantities, order value, invoice details and any GSTIN you provide for a business purchase.
- Payment confirmation — a transaction reference, payment method type and status returned to us by the payment gateway. We do not receive or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, net-banking password or OTP.
- Correspondence — the content of emails, WhatsApp messages, calls and support requests, including any photographs or videos you send while raising a claim.
- Voluntary contributions — product reviews, ratings, testimonials, survey answers and newsletter sign-ups, where you choose to share them.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours records a small amount of technical information so that pages load correctly and so that we can understand, in aggregate, what is working:
- Device type, operating system, browser and screen size.
- IP address and the approximate city or region it indicates — never a precise location.
- Pages viewed, time spent, and the link or search that brought you to us.
- Cookie identifiers and similar technologies, as described in section 03.
What we will never ask for
No member of our team will ever ask you for a card CVV, a UPI PIN, a net-banking password, or an OTP — by call, by message or by email. There is no situation in which we need them.
Please note
If anyone contacts you claiming to represent Pawan Gold and asks for such details, or asks you to install a screen-sharing application to process a refund, treat it as fraudulent. End the conversation and write to us at info@pawangold.com.
02
How We Use Your Information
Every use listed below is tied to a purpose you would recognise as reasonable. There are no others.
- To fulfil your order — to confirm payment, pack your consignment, arrange delivery and raise an invoice.
- To keep you informed — order confirmations, dispatch notifications, tracking links and delivery updates.
- To support you — to answer questions, verify claims of damage or incorrect delivery, and resolve them properly.
- To improve what we make and how we sell it — by studying anonymised, aggregated patterns in browsing and purchase behaviour.
- To write to you occasionally — about new pressings, seasonal offerings or recipes, and only where you have opted in. Every such message carries a way out.
- To meet our obligations — accounting, GST and other tax records, food-safety traceability, and any lawful request from a competent authority.
- To protect the business — to detect fraudulent orders, prevent abuse of our replacement policy, and secure our systems.
The basis on which we do this
We rely on one of the following, depending on the purpose: the performance of our contract with you when you place an order; your consent, where we have asked for it; our compliance with applicable Indian law; and our legitimate interest in running a safe, honest and well-made business.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. We do not build advertising profiles of you for other companies. We do not subject you to automated decision-making that produces a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
03
Cookies & Similar Technologies
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device that allows a website to remember something — that your basket still holds two bottles, for instance, or that you have already dismissed a notice. We use them sparingly.
The kinds we use
- Essential cookies — required for the site to function: your session, your basket, checkout security. These cannot be switched off without breaking the site.
- Analytics cookies — used to understand which pages are read, where visitors leave, and how quickly pages load. The data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
- Preference cookies — remember small choices such as your region or previously entered delivery pin code, so you are not asked twice.
- Marketing cookies — where used, these help us measure whether a campaign reached the right people. They are set only with your consent.
Managing cookies
You are in control. Every major browser allows you to view, block or delete cookies, and to browse in a private window. Please note that blocking essential cookies will prevent the basket and checkout from working. Where a consent banner is shown on our site, your selection is recorded and can be changed at any time.
04
Who We Share It With
Your information is shared only with the partners required to complete what you have asked us to do, and only to the extent that each one needs. Each is bound by contract to use it for that purpose alone and to keep it secure.
- Payment gateways authorised by the Reserve Bank of India, who process your payment and return only a confirmation to us.
- Logistics and courier partners, who receive your name, delivery address and telephone number in order to bring the consignment to your door.
- Communication providers for transactional email, SMS and WhatsApp notifications regarding your order.
- Technology providers — website hosting, analytics and customer-support tools operating under confidentiality obligations.
- Professional advisers such as our accountants and auditors, where required for statutory compliance.
- Government or judicial authorities, where disclosure is required by law, by court order, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
Links to other websites
Our pages may link to sites we do not operate — a courier's tracking page, a payment provider, a social platform. Once you leave pawangold.com, their privacy practices apply, not ours. We would encourage you to read them.
Where your information is held
Our systems and those of our service providers are primarily located in India. Where a provider stores or processes data outside India, we take reasonable steps to ensure that it is protected to a standard consistent with this policy and with applicable Indian law.
05
How We Protect It
We treat your details the way we treat a sealed consignment: handled by few hands, checked carefully, and never left open.
- Our website and checkout are served over encrypted HTTPS connections.
- Payment credentials never touch our servers — they are captured and tokenised by our payment partners on PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure.
- Access to order and customer records is restricted to team members who need it to do their work, under individual credentials.
- Accounts, devices and administrative access are password-protected, and our platform is kept updated against known vulnerabilities.
- Physical documents such as printed invoices and dispatch manifests are stored securely at our premises and destroyed once no longer required.
An honest limitation
No method of transmission over the internet, and no method of electronic storage, is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can commit to is this: if a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will act to contain it, notify the appropriate authority where the law requires, and inform you promptly and plainly about what happened and what you should do.
06
How Long We Keep It
Information is not kept indefinitely simply because it is easy to keep. Each category has an end.
- Order & invoice records
- Retained for the period required under applicable tax, GST and accounting law — ordinarily up to eight financial years.
- Contact & delivery details
- Retained while your relationship with us is active, and for a reasonable period thereafter to honour any claim or query.
- Support conversations
- Retained for up to twenty-four months, so that we can refer back to what was agreed.
- Claim evidence (photos, videos)
- Retained for up to twelve months from the date the claim is closed.
- Marketing consent
- Retained until you withdraw it, plus a record of the withdrawal itself.
- Website analytics
- Retained in aggregated or anonymised form, from which you cannot be identified.
When a retention period ends, the information is deleted from our active systems or irreversibly anonymised.
07
Your Rights & Choices
The information is yours. These rights are recognised under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 together with the rules made under it, and we honour them regardless of where you write to us from.
- The right to accessAsk us for a summary of the personal information we hold about you and how it has been used.
- The right to correctionAsk us to correct anything inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
- The right to erasureAsk us to delete your personal information, except where we are legally required to retain it — tax records being the usual exception.
- The right to withdraw consentWithdraw a consent you previously gave, at any time. Withdrawal does not affect anything lawfully done before it.
- The right to opt out of marketingUnsubscribe from any promotional message using the link it contains, or by writing to us. Transactional messages about an order you have placed will still reach you.
- The right to nominateNominate another individual to exercise your rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.
- The right to be heardRaise a grievance with us and receive a considered response, and escalate it further if you remain dissatisfied.
How to exercise them
Write to info@pawangold.com with the request and the order number or registered email address associated with it. We may ask a question or two to confirm that the request is genuinely yours — a safeguard for you, not an obstacle. We aim to respond within thirty days.
08
Children’s Privacy
Our website and products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of eighteen, and orders may only be placed by individuals competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with personal information, write to us and we will remove it from our records without delay.
09
Changes to This Policy
As our business grows, as we adopt new tools, or as the law evolves, this policy may be revised. The date at the top of this page will always show when it was last updated, and the current version will always live at this address.
Where a change materially affects how we use your information, we will make a reasonable effort to bring it to your attention — by a notice on the website or, where appropriate, by email. Continuing to use pawangold.com after a revision means you accept the updated policy.

A quiet commitment
We are a small operation from a village in Pratapgarh. We do not have a data business, and we have no ambition to build one. What we have is a press, a season, and a growing number of households who let us into their kitchens.
Handling your information with restraint is not a compliance exercise for us. It is the same instinct that makes us refuse to heat the seed, refuse to thin the oil, and refuse to hurry the process. Less, done properly.
